A few weeks ago I had a chance to visit Las Vegas, Nevada. Instead of gambling, I decided to visit different hotels around the city. In my opinion, the most beautiful and impressive was The Venetian Hotel.
The Venetian is a five diamond luxury hotel located on the famous 4-mile Las Vegas Strip, a street lined with famous hotels and casinos. This enormous structure was designed as a replica of Venice, Italy. The hotel is majestic and glamorous from beginning to end. Its walls and ceilings are decorated with replicas of magnificent art of Leonardo da Vinci. The hotel was opened on May 3, 1999 and renovated in 2003. The signature attractions are the Grand Canal with the motorized gondolas, the Grand Canal Shops and The Tao Nightclub, a favorite among many celebrities. If you decide to take a gondola ride inside or outside of the hotel you will feel like you are actually in Venice. Serenading gondoliers are often seen singing for couples who decide to get married on the gondola rides. In the back of the hotel there is a small replica of Piazza San Marco with the bell tower, numerous restaurants and cafes, stages for live performances and many stores featuring famous brands. Hotel rooms are decorated in a classical luxury style and if you book your stay early it is also very affordable. If you can’t get to Italy but you get an opportunity to go to Las Vegas, this is a great option to stay or visit for couples and for families.
Not far from Las Vegas is the Grand Canyon and the Hoover Dam, two of the most interesting places to visit in the Southwestern United States. You can easily rent a car and drive there on your own or sign up for a guided tour. Every hotel has plenty of such offers. The Hoover Dam is one hour away and the Grand Canyon is four hours. Both are definitely worth a visit and the scenery along the way is absolutely breathtaking.
