Join us as we explore the great outdoors of Washington D.C, Maryland and Virginia!
Whether you call it hiking, rambling, bushwalking, hillwalking or just walking. Join Sarah and me (Vernetta) as we explore the beautiful trails and parks of the DMV area. We are so fortunate to be in one of the most beautiful countries in the world and what better and inexpensive way to experience its beauty alfresco. It is also a great way to keep fit! The area is teeming with gems in the form of parks and trails where one go hiking and enjoy the beauty of nature, while at the same time discovering nearby places.
So far, we have done one hike and this was to the Theodore Roosevelt Island, a true gem located in the Potomac River in D.C where we enjoyed great scenery and an easy nature walk; we were also able to see the huge monument located in the middle of the island in memorial of Theodore Roosevelt the 26th president of the United States.
We are planning our next hike for mid-February and this time we will go to Rock Creek National Park; another gem in D.C. So join us as we escape the hustle and bustle of city and suburbia life and come breathe fresh air, enjoy nature’s beauty, and maybe catch a glimpse of wildlife, who knows?
